Subscriptions and refunds

How billing works, and how to cancel — on this page rather than buried in the Terms, because cancelling should be as easy to find as subscribing.

Free and paid

RealDex is free to download and use. Everything central to the app — on-device identification, your collection, the territory map, the field record — works without paying.

A subscription removes advertising and raises Cloud AI limits. That is the whole difference.

Price, billing period and any trial terms are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency including applicable tax. We do not list prices here, because store pricing varies by country and a stale figure on a webpage is worse than none.

How billing works

  • Payment is taken by the Apple App Store or Google Play, never by us. We never see your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • Renewal is charged to the store account you subscribed with, within 24 hours of the period ending.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
  • Entitlements are managed by RevenueCat, which links your subscription to your device.

Free trials

If a trial is offered, the terms are shown before you start it.

A trial converts into a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before it ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial's last day. Cancelling during a trial keeps your access until the trial period ends — you do not lose it immediately.

If you have already used a trial for a subscription, you are generally not eligible for another; the stores enforce this, not us.

How to cancel

You cancel through the store you subscribed with. We cannot do it for you — we have no access to your store account and no ability to end a subscription on your behalf. This is not us passing you around; it is how app store billing works.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Tap RealDex, then Cancel Subscription

Android

  1. Open the Google Play app
  2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions
  3. Tap RealDex, then Cancel subscription

You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription — you must cancel through the store.

If you cannot find the subscription, it may have been bought with a different store account than the one you are signed in to.

Refunds

Refunds are issued by Apple or Google, under their policies. We cannot issue them directly because we never received the payment.

Your statutory rights are not affected by any of this. Depending on where you live you may have a legal right to cancel or receive a refund that goes beyond store policy — for example the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and UK, or rights under Turkish consumer protection law. Where such a right applies, it applies regardless of what a store's own policy says.

If a store refuses a refund you believe you are legally entitled to, contact us with the details. We cannot overrule the store, but we can support your case with them.

Restoring a purchase

New device, or reinstalled the app? Open Settings → Restore Purchases and sign in with the same store account you subscribed with. Entitlements are tied to that account.

Price and plan changes

If we change the price of an existing subscription or materially reduce what it includes, we will give notice in advance through the app or the store, as the store rules and your local consumer law require. Price increases do not take effect without the notice and, where required, your consent — and you can always cancel before they do.

Problems

Billing questions we can actually help with — entitlement not applying, ads still showing after subscribing, restore not working — go to support. Include your Device ID from Settings → About and your store receipt.

For anything involving the payment itself, the store is the only party that can act.
