This page is about the RealDex website, not the app. The app uses no cookies at all.
Scope
This policy covers realdex.alpyalay.org and the wider alpyalay.org site.
The RealDex mobile app does not use cookies. It has no embedded browser and no web views that store cookies. How the app handles data is a separate question, answered in the Privacy Policy.
What we store
We use two categories, and only two.
Strictly necessary
Storage needed for the site to work and to honour your own choices. It requires no consent, because without it the site cannot do what you asked.

If you reject analytics, this is the only thing stored — and it exists precisely to remember that you said no.
Analytics — consent required
Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages people read and roughly where they come from. We use it to decide what to write and what to fix.

These are set only if you accept. Until you make a choice, and if you decline, Google Consent Mode holds analytics_storage in a denied state and no analytics cookies are written.
The data goes to Google. We see aggregate reports, never individual identities, and we do not use it for advertising or combine it with app data. Google's handling is governed by Google's privacy policy.
What we do not use
No advertising cookies. No third-party tracking pixels. No social media embeds, no session recording, no heatmaps, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking, and no data brokers.
Advertising exists in the mobile app, not on this website, and the two are not connected.
Changing your choice
Use the Cookie settings link in the site footer. It reopens the banner and your new choice takes effect immediately. Declining after having accepted stops further collection; to remove cookies already set, clear them in your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking strictly necessary storage may mean you get asked about cookies on every visit, since the record of your answer is itself the thing being blocked.
Most browsers also send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Because analytics is off unless you actively accept, a user who never engages with the banner is never tracked regardless of what their browser signals.
Legal basis
Analytics storage is set on the basis of your consent, under the EU ePrivacy Directive as implemented locally, the UK PECR, and equivalent rules elsewhere. Strictly necessary storage relies on the exemption those rules provide.
You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it — the footer link is the same distance away as the banner button was.
